Aly Castle grew up in Madison, Connecticut, taking art classes from a young age. She attended the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA, where she was able to study the diverse media that interest her, including textiles, ceramics, and illustration.

She earned her BFA in Fibers and Textiles in 2016, after completing a thesis show which featured soft sculptures that represent the pressures put upon women to contain themselves, constantly forcing them to become smaller and softer until their function as human being is stripped away. (Her thesis work can be seen under "Material Works")

She received a Windgate Scholarship in 2015, and the Rosalie Borowsky Award for Excellence in Fibers in 2016.
She is currently creating a line of cozy plant-based clothing, under the shop name Moodfae.
